Media Lists (for Journalists)
What is a Media List?
A Media List in Muck Rack is a curated collection of journalists and media professionals who cover specific topics or work for particular outlets.
While leveraged by PR professionals to do their outreach, journalists may find them useful because they help build relationships with other journalists, save time by consolidating contact information, and track and organize media contacts.
Exclusive to Verified Journalists
Note that the Media List tool is exclusive to those verified journalists who meet Muck Rack's criteria.
Create a Media List
Go to Tools > Media Lists.
Select Create New.
Name and save the Media List.
Add contacts to your Media List. Then you can:
Use the Search options within the Media List
Add a contact during a People Search
Add a contact from their individual profile
Navigate a Media List
At a glance, you can view contact and outlet information, and receive email notifications when someone changes jobs.
Edit the columns of your media lists
By default, media lists will contain a pre-configured set of columns. You can customize the columns included in your lists by selecting the Edit Columns button at the top of your list.
NOTE: The example above is shown from the PR user view, but the functionality of the columns is the same.
Filter your media lists table
You can filter your media lists in a number of ways by selecting the +Add Filter button at the top of the list table.
NOTE: Table filters stay active until they are cleared. Any active filters will appear as gray boxes at the top of your table view.
The example above is shown from the PR user view, but the functionality of the filters is the same.
Adjust your view
If your table of media lists has grown large, you can use the selector at the bottom of the table to view more lists at one time. Keep in mind, this same functionality is found on any table across Muck Rack.
NOTE: The example above is shown from the PR user view, but the functionality of the view more option is the same.
