Muck Rack's AI-powered features boost your impact by helping with tedious tasks, like research, list building, and drafting copy, so you can focus more on strategy, relationships, and showing impact. AI and machine learning can also help identify patterns and insights and provide recommended actions.

We host and/or manage three types of artificial intelligence models that power the Muck Rack AI Features (collectively, “Models”): our own proprietary Models, open-source Models, and licensed proprietary Models.

How does Muck Rack use AI technology in our product?

We’re leveraging AI and machine learning technology throughout Muck Rack’s platform. Features that use AI technology include:

  • Reporting on Topics surfaces the most prominent topics related to your coverage so you can better understand conversations and trends associated with your brand, identify media opportunities, and take action to steer the conversation. (Included in Premier)

  • PR Hit Score is a proprietary metric that helps you easily understand which mentions are most important to your coverage based on a set of customizable values, including the outlet’s importance, journalist influence and article engagement, among others. It can be used to help you identify the press hits worth responding to and which to highlight to stakeholders, and to report on the overall quality of your coverage. (Included in Premier)

  • Recommended Journalists is powered by a proprietary AI model and shares a curated list of journalist recommendations based on your existing media lists to help save time on research and list building, to ensure you don't miss out on important contacts. (Included in Standard and Premier)

  • Filter by Topics Muck Rack determines what each article is about and applies topics you can use to filter your search results to easily monitor relevant content.

  • Coverage Spike Notifications, a media monitoring feature, sends email notifications directly to your inbox when Muck Rack detects an increased article volume in an automated coverage report so your team can immediately investigate and take action if needed, a critical part of reputation management. The tool uses machine learning to monitor global media sources, analyzes trends over varying time frames and flags significant spikes.

  • Word Clouds help PR pros to quickly visualize the most prominent terms within a saved search or coverage report, or within articles written by a specific journalist. Muck Rack Word Clouds use proprietary ML/AI to compare the frequency of words in your data source versus how often those words appear in everyday language.

  • PressPal.ai helps you save time by drafting a pitch or press release and surfacing relevant journalists who may be interested in your news. Put in a few keywords about your story, and get a first draft press release or pitch (under 200 words, the preferred max length of a pitch per our journalist community).

  • Media Brief Assistant generates a comprehensive Media Brief draft using AI and data from journalist profiles to analyze and compile the reporter’s background, recent coverage, likely interview themes, potential questions and suggested responses.

We will continue to develop features using proprietary AI technologies that help to personalize our users’ experiences, save time, and provide insights and suggested actions.

Are Muck Rack Generative AI Features required to use the Service and can they be disabled?

Muck Rack Generative AI Features are optional for Muck Rack customers to use. Contact your account manager for more details.

Can any AI features be disabled?

How does Muck Rack protect customer data when using AI features?

Customer data is logically separated at the database/datastore level. AI features do not store or process customer data, AI features are not trained on customer data.
