About two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your Muck Rack account. It requires anyone who tries to log into your account to have three things: your email address, your password, and a one-time code sent to or available from your mobile device.
We highly recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your Muck Rack account because requiring a physical device in addition to a password exponentially increases your account’s security.
It’s easy to set up from your Account Settings.
Setting up two-factor authentication
There are two options for how to receive the verification code on your mobile device. You can download an authentication app (popular ones are Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy) or you can get text messages with the verification codes each time you log in. If you are worried about needing your phone nearby to access your Muck Rack account, you can download Authy to your computer.
To activate two-factor authentication for your account:
Go to your Account Settings
In the Security section, click Enable two-factor authentication
Proceed through the steps to activate two-factor authentication on your account
