Yes! Depending on your level of access, Muck Rack’s Editorial team can import your media lists and recreate them on the platform. Once uploaded, any updates or changes made to Muck Rack’s database will be reflected immediately on your lists including new titles, beats, media outlets, and contact information. If any of your contacts don’t meet our criteria to be added to the main database, they will be added as Custom Contacts for your team. Custom contacts are owned solely by your organization and will not be maintained by Muck Rack’s Editors.
To request media list imports, message the team via the chat button in the bottom-right corner of your screen while you're logged in to Muck Rack. Attach your media lists as Excel spreadsheets or Google Sheets with as much of the following information as possible:
- First name*
- Last name*
- Media outlets and titles
- Twitter handles
- Notes (Can be added as activities or contact preferences)
- Mailing addresses
*Denotes mandatory fields. If your team only has first and last names included in an import, but no emails, please contact your Account Manager for more information on this research project.
Please include any additional information on:
- How the list should be organized on your account. For example, as one master media list or as individual lists.
- Whether or not the team should import mailing addresses to your contacts
- Where you would like notes to appear (activities or as contact preferences)
We can generally import media lists within 3 business days, assuming they are well-formatted. If there are many lists (10 or more), or they require a lot of formatting, the import may take more time. Muck Rack's Editorial team will notify you if the turnaround will be longer than 3 business days.
