Through Muck Rack's Slack Integration, you can send new article alerts to the Slack app on your computer or mobile device. You’ll be able to stay up to date, with as published notifications, on any new articles that match the alert filters you set.
Setting up the Slack Integration

Log in to Muck Rack.
Navigate to User ➡ Integration Settings.
Scroll down to the Slack integration panel and click Connect workspace to install the Muck Rack app to the Slack Workspace of your choice.
Note: Some organizations may require you to have elevated Slack permissions (e.g. the role of Workspace Owner) to add the app to your Slack workspace.
Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to the Muck Rack integration page showing your connected status.
Configure the alerts to send to Slack

Navigate to Muck Rack ➡ Monitoring ➡ Alerts.
Select an alert you’d like to be sent to a Slack Channel or click +Create New to create a new alert.
Scroll down to the Send Alerts section.
Select the checkbox next to Slack.
Select which public channel you’d like the alerts to be sent to.
Note: Although each alert can be directed to a single channel, it is possible to send multiple alerts to the same channel.
Click Save.
Note: Muck Rack Slack Alerts will display in Slack search results. To avoid this, we recommend using the "Exclude apps and workflows" filter in Slack searches.
Best Practices
In order to ensure results are as relevant to your needs as possible, ensure your alert search terms and filters are not too broad. Please see our article for how to leverage alerts here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to configure the integration if someone in my organization has already connected Muck Rack to Slack?
No! Once one person has connected their application, you’ll be able to send as many alerts as you’d like to Slack.
How many alerts or channels can I set up?
You may have as many alerts sent to Slack as you’d like. Each alert can only be sent to a maximum of 3 channels.
Can I send Slack alerts in a digest format at set times throughout the day.
No, currently the only option for Slack alerts is “As published”.
Can I send alerts in a direct message on Slack instead of a channel?
No, currently alerts can only be sent to public channels.
My alert isn’t sending anymore.
Ensure the person who set up the Slack Integration still has an active Slack account. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration on the integrations page in Muck Rack.
How long might it take for an alert to arrive?
Alerts can take up to 30 minutes to appear in your Slack workspace.
