Frequently Asked Questions

What security permissions am I granting Muck Rack when configuring the Google Analytics integration?

The Google Analytics integration uses a read-only API to view data—by authenticating your Google Analytics account, you give Muck Rack permission to access the data available to you in Google Analytics and to pull in data from the specific account, property, and view you select in Muck Rack. Muck Rack does not have any permission to edit any data in your Google Analytics instance.

How many Google Analytics accounts can I integrate with Muck Rack?

To better understand how customers are integrating multiple Google Analytics accounts and ensure the feature's reliability, we’re first launching with the capability to add up to 3 Google Analytics accounts. We will continuously monitor and track feedback to see if there’s a need to increase this in the future.

What do Account, Property, and View mean when connecting my Google Account?

An Analytics account is a way to name and organize how you track one or more properties (e.g., websites, mobile apps, point-of-sale devices) using Analytics. Each Analytics user has access to at least one account, either one they created themselves or one they were given access to by someone else. In each Analytics account, at least one property (such as a website) is being tracked.

Property: A website, mobile application, blog, etc, with a unique tracking ID. A Google Analytics account can contain one or more properties.

View: A view is a set of specifications for tracking traffic on a single domain. For example, if you were setting up views to track "," you might want: One view for traffic to, one view for U.S. visitors, and one view whose reports can be viewed only by certain people.

Why can't I see my Google Analytics instance or properties when integrating?

This could be due to many reasons. Please check your Google Analytics instance to ensure you have full access to view all properties and instances tied to the email address on your Muck Rack account that you are integrating with. If you are still having issues, please contact our support team.

Why does it appear as though articles are missing at the very beginning or end of the selected timeframe within my widget?

This is due to timezone limitations within the application that will be resolved in 2023.
