When first configuring the Email Integration

When you first set up the Email Integration, Muck Rack will automatically send a test email to the address configured for pitching. If the test email fails, it may be due to the following reasons:

Your email has been disconnected

Your email connection may have expired or been revoked. This could be because:

  • You recently reset your password

  • For Microsoft and Office 365 users, if your IT team has a conditional access policy in place, this could also cause your email to disconnect integrations. Talk with your IT team about creating a policy that is not restrictive and has long session timeouts. More information here.

Please try disconnecting and reconnecting your email via your Account Settings and try again.

Configuration settings in Gmail may prevent sending

There was an error while sending with Gmail. Please reach out to the Google admin for your organization with the additional information here for a possible resolution.

If you are still experiencing issues, please contact support through the chat widget at the bottom right of the screen for assistance.

When sending a test pitch from the Review and Send page

If you experience a failed test pitch from the Review and Send page, please review the resolution steps below.

Using the wrong sending email

You may be trying to send with a different email address than the one that was originally connected.

  • Make sure that the email you are sending from is the same as the one that’s been connected.

If you are still experiencing issues, please contact support through the chat widget at the bottom right of the screen for assistance.
