By leveraging the depth and complexity of Muck Rack’s search engine and journalist database, PressPal.ai allows Public Relations professionals to explore the capabilities of AI using Chat GPT and how it might assist them with their day-to-day responsibilities, all from a single prompt.

Use PressPal

You can use Presspal whether you are logged into Muck Rack or not, but there are limitations for users who are not logged in. External and logged-out users can use PressPal once to generate either a single Press Release or a Pitch. To use PressPal more than once, users must log into a Muck Rack account.

  1. Log into Muck Rack. Navigate to Relationships > PressPal.ai

Shows the Relationships dropdown menu expanded with the 'PressPal.ai' option circled in red

  2. Select the Press Release or Pitch option in the left-hand toggle.

Shows the PressPal.ai page with the 'Press Release' and 'Pitch' toggle buttons circled in red

  3. Enter your key terms in the text entry bar and Select the Generate button.

  4. Once generated, you can select the Copy text button in the top right to copy the full text and paste it elsewhere (such as a word processor, email, or pitch).

The PressPal.ai tool is shown with a generated Pitch and the 'View full list' button highlighted below the journalist suggestions

  5. Below the list of suggested journalists, select the View full list button below the suggested journalists to see a complete list of journalists relevant to your topic.

Multilingual Press Releases

You can generate multilingual press releases using PressPal.ai. The language you type into the prompt field will automatically be detected, and the press release will be generated in the same language.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question

Answer

Who can use Presspal?

It will be available to any authenticated user.

How is the list of relevant journalists generated?

A People Search will be generated using the key terms generated by the AI software. We will display the most relevant People with the Press Release and link back to that Search if the user wants to see more relevant journalists.

Is it possible for a user to not receive a generated Press Release given their prompt?

Yes, in two scenarios:

  • If ChatGPT cannot generate a press release given the prompt, the following message will appear: “Can’t interpret prompt: Muck Rack cannot generate a press release based on the prompt. Please reword your prompt and try again.”

  • Suppose ChatGPT deems the request obscene/unacceptable. The following message will appear in that case: “Policy Error: This content may violate OpenAI’s content policy, and Muck Rack cannot generate a press release on this subject.”

Will this link to your Pitching tool?

No, it will not link directly to the Pitching tool. You can use it to generate a pitch, which we recommend copying into the Pitching tool and editing according to industry best practices.

Can I save the press release?

No, you cannot save the Press Release in Muck Rack.

Can I save a list of the relevant journalists?

If you want to save the list of journalists, you can select the View full list button below the list and then follow the steps in the Create Media and Outlet Lists article here to save the list.

Does OpenAI use the data I submit through PressPal to train or improve their models?

OpenAI uses the data submitted in line with their polices:

https://openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies

Muck Rack recommends against entering any personal data when using PressPal. Please see our privacy policy for further information.

What is the character limit for typing into PressPal?

Currently, PressPal has a limit of 100 characters.

My prompt is written in another language, but the press release/pitch is still being generated in English. Why?

Sometimes the text string entered needs to be longer for ChatGPT to properly detect the language.

Try entering a longer prompt and then selecting the Generate button again.
