Muck Rack Settings
Muck Rack's Settings provide options supporting teamwork and account customization. Whether your goal is to refine collaboration or customize your platform experience, Muck Rack's Settings will deliver invaluable know-how and actionable steps.
NOTE: This information in this article applies to paid Muck Rack users that are PR professionals.

Overview
Settings control the basic elements of your account in Muck Rack. To access Settings, select your Muck Rack user icon and choose Settings.
Organization Settings
Settings made in this section will impact all teammates in your organization.
Setting | Description |
Organization Name
| Provide your name. This name will only be displayed to you and your teammates on Muck Rack. |
Organization Icon
| The image used to represent "you" in Muck Rack. This icon could be your company logo or any image that will be used to help differentiate between the different organizations you’re part of. |
Organization signature
| This can be toggled on or off. Automatically display standard text below your teammates' signatures in emails sent with Pitches or Newsletter. |
Team
| Manage teammates or add a teammate directly from this section. |
Email logging
| Forward or BCC emails to this address and log conversations with journalists as Activity on their profiles. Emails sent to this address will be attached to matching profiles and only visible to your teammates. Learn more in our Email Logging article or on the Email Logging page.
This section also provides links to Email Logging settings within Muck Rack. |
Advertising Value Equivalency (AVE)
| Customize automatically generated advertising value equivalency (AVE) per Media Outlet for articles in coverage reports and dashboard widgets.

Display for broadcast clips (if applicable)
| Show or hide advertising values for broadcast clips. Advertising value can be displayed or hidden for each Saved Broadcast Clip from the clip's settings and sharing. Changing this setting will not impact any existing Saved Broadcast Clips. You can toggle this feature on and off. |
Newsletter subscriber lists
| Manage subscribed and unsubscribed teammates who receive your organization's Newsletters.
NOTE: Newsletters are exclusive to Muck Rack's Premier package; please contact your Customer Success Manager if you would like to upgrade your subscription.

PR Hit Score Values
| Customize your PR Hit Score settings by selecting the level of importance you would like to assign to each value (None, Low, Standard, High, or Highest) according to what your organization considers most important.

Personal Settings
Personal Settings allow you to control your account's security elements and some additional basic settings. To access Personal Settings, Go to your Muck Rack user icon, choose Settings, then select Personal Settings from the left-hand menu.
Setting | Description |
Personal signature | Set a personal signature to be displayed in your emails through Pitches. |
Custom logo for exports
| The logo is displayed any time you export data from Muck Rack; for example: Reporting data. |
Duplicate content
| When searching, this setting allows you to group replicate articles or display them as individual articles. |
Default search filters
| Here you can set preferred search filters to be applied by default whenever you start a new search. |
Email Integration
| Connect your email account to send emails and track responses through Muck Rack. This section also shows the status of your email connection. Emails and replies will appear in your email and be displayed throughout Muck Rack, including on journalist profiles. You may be asked to reconnect your email address periodically. |
Time zone settings
| Display the Time Zone that represents your organization. |
Do Not Contact
| Profiles that have been set as Do Not Contact by Muck Rack teammates. These people will not be emailed through Muck Rack; all contact information is hidden on their profiles. Learn more in our Email in Muck Rack article. |
Email suppression
| The suppression list contains email addresses that cannot be sent to through Muck Rack. Unsubscribed email addresses that are undeliverable because of past bounces are automatically added to the list. Learn more in our Email in Muck Rack article. |
Job updates digest emails
| You can receive emails when job updates are made to profiles you’ve viewed or on your organization’s Media Lists. You can toggle this feature on and off. |
Coverage Report spike notifications
| Receive emails when there is a spike in coverage for the keywords or alerts connected to an automated Coverage Report. |
Manage Teammates
Manage Teammates is the setting that controls the accounts of your team and its members.
To access Manage Teammates, select your Muck Rack user icon in the top right corner and choose Manage Teammates.
From here, you can see current teammates, their status, and their email address.
Teammate Status
You can sort Team members by status by selecting the respective status at the top of the table on your Team page. Use the table below to learn more about each status.
Status | Description |
Active | Current active nonadmin users. Teammates are not allowed to add, remove or change other teammates’ access on Muck Rack. The features they are allowed to use on Muck Rack are determined by their access. |
Admin | Current active admin users. Admins are allowed to add, remove or change other teammates’ access to Muck Rack. Admins can be given full access or limited access on Muck Rack. |
Invited | Teammates who have not accepted their invitation to join your organization on Muck Rack will appear as invited on your Team page. Invitations can be resent or revoked entirely. |
Requested | People who have requested to join your team. |
Deactivated | Teammates who no longer have full or limited access to Muck Rack appear as deactivated. Deactivated teammates cannot login to Muck Rack. When a teammate is no longer employed by your organization, we recommend deactivating their account.
Deactivated users will still appear throughout Muck Rack (e.g. as a Media List creator or Relationship Owner) so you can accurately track your organization’s history and interactions with journalists as your team evolves. |
Add a Teammate
Go to your Team page by selecting your avatar, then Manage Teammates.
Select the + Invite Teammate button in the top right corner.
Enter their name and email address, and select the role you would like them to have.
Select the Send Invitation button.
After you send the invitation, your teammate will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation. Your teammate can start using Muck Rack immediately after accepting the invitation.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Invitations expire after 14 days.
NOTE: If your teammate hasn’t received an email to join your organization on Muck Rack or if you would like to rescind your invitation to a teammate:
Go to your Team.
Find and select your teammate’s name.
Select Resend or Revoke.
Edit A Teammate
From the Team page, select a teammate's name to edit their details:
You can update their details and role from here, or Resend or Revoke their invitation.
Delete A Teammate
To deactivate or delete a Teammate, go to the Team page and select the teammate's name, then select the Deactivate button at the bottom.
Change A Teammate's Role
From the Team page, select the teammate's name. Then select a new role and the Save button at the bottom.
Manage Integrations
Manage Integrations allows you to manage the status of your integrations with Muck Rack. Go to your Muck Rack user icon and choose Manage Integrations.
Your integrations will be displayed with status and the ability to edit or disconnect the integration.
Email Integration In Muck Rack
Connect your email (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) account in Muck Rack to send emails with Pitches. Once your email address is connected to Muck Rack, any email sent is automatically logged on the journalist’s profile and appears in your email outbox.
With Email Integrations, you can authenticate your email quickly, often without needing support from your IT team. The email-sending limits imposed in Muck Rack closely match the daily limits provided by your email client. Every email provider allows a different number of emails to be sent in a given day, which can vary more granularly by the email provider.

Select your avatar in the top right-hand corner, then select Settings.
In the Pitches > Email Integration section, select Connect Email.
Follow the prompts to authenticate and connect your email.
Sending a Test Pitch
When you first configure Muck Rack's Email Integration, a test pitch will automatically be sent to the email used during the setup process.
Go to Settings > Pitches > Email Integration > View connection status to view the test email status.
If the status says Failed, select the Resend now link to resend it.
Once the status says Delivered, your email integration is ready to pitch.

Reset Password
If you would like to reset your Muck Rack password, use the following steps:
Go to https://muckrack.com/account/password/create, enter your email address, and select the Create my password button.
Check your email for a link to reset your password.
Enter a new password when prompted, then select the Save changes button.
NOTE: The new password must be different from any passwords previously set on your account.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you've tried following these steps to reset your password and you're still experiencing trouble logging in to Muck Rack, reach out to our team via support@muckrack.com.
Privacy Settings
Several features of Muck Rack can be made public to share with your team or kept private and accessible to only your account. This option is often called Sharing or Shared With.
The share options will display with the following drop-down options:
Your Organization
Only Me
Privacy settings will typically display when creating or editing certain objects in Muck Rack.
